Sounds Like A Piece of Cake

This is a technology test and demo for an upcoming audiogame. The game will be an adventure game. Find the object, use the object, gain access to new areas.

It's been conceived as an audiogame but it's a general accessibility testbed and has some features for people who need to see things. It's also fully Close Captioned. You can turn on and off these features in the menu (press the Tab key). Some crude graphics have been included for testing. You can turn them on/off in the menu

Right now it's just a minimal demo with working interactions. Visit your surroundings and try to find some cake.

Once in the game press the Tab key for instructions and settings but here they are for reference:

You only use the directional keys (WASD or arrows) to play and the Tab key for the menu.

W is for Walking. You mostly walk "on rails" along a path.  Most paths are loops that will return you to where you started if you just keep walking. You'll know there is a fork on the path when you hear three ticks or when you ask...

A is for Asking. Use A at any moment to hear the name of your location and whether there's another path you can take or some action you can make.

D is for Doing. Use D to do any available action at your location, including taking a branch on your path. Not a lot to do right now. Just grab your keys and open your door for testing purposes.

S is for (Suddenly?) turning around and going back the way you were coming.

The game also has an alternative One-Button interface that you can try. Use the Spacebar for it. Click for Asking. Hold for Walking. Double click for Doing. Triple click for S. Quad+ click for Menu. In menus, click for next option, hold to select. Double+ click to exit.

The game can be played without headphones. There's no need to locate sounds.
