A downloadable test for Windows and macOS

Hello and welcome to this test and demo of a future open world audiogame. The visuals (a photo of an early doodle) are just there temporarily for the benefit of sighted testers and won't be a part of the final game (unless you tell me otherwise)

You can explore a large area of 1 square kilometer with a small village next to a river and a pond.  Not much to do yet except walk around. This is just a test to see if people (you) like the interface. Any feedback is more than welcome. Don't hold back.

You don't have to keep reading. There are instructions in game but for reference:

The Tab key will read you the instructions in game.

The number keys each control a setting for a user preference.  Start with 1 for the narration volume.

You walk around using the directional keys (WASD or arrow keys).  You can choose between holding down the forward key to walk or just tap once and the character keeps walking until you press another key or there's an obstacle. Use 0 (zero) to adjust that.

There is a YES button that you use to interact with things (pickup items, open doors). For that you can use the spacebar, the enter key, the Y or the Q.

There is also a NO button that you use to get your location. If you are at a named location, you will hear its name and a series of sounds that indicate the available exits. These sounds will be shallow rimshots except for the exit you have selected that will have a deeper bongo sound. You will also hear a bell that's always to your north.  For that you can use the backspace, either Shift key, the N or the E.

The character keeps to paths between locations and turning in those paths will just turn you around. At locations, you can choose among the available exits.

Tweak the volume levels to your like using the number keys 1-6. They will tell you what each one does.

The world is quite empty right now. There are even some silent areas. This is just a quick test for the controls. The bulk of the gameplay will be interacting with NPCs and harvesting and crafting. None of that is present here. There's a key to the front door of your house that you can pick up in your room. Normally that's where you'd start but that was conflicting with the tutorial so you'll be starting in town

That said, please take a walk around and let me know what you think. Thanks for your time.
